Oolite describes a sedimentary rock formed with ooids, or spherical grains in concentric layers. This rock is called Bristlecone Pine Oolite, mostly likely because of the location where the stone is found in California.
This is a great cabochon, with beautiful colors and such unusual patterns.
The pendant drops from the chain about 1-3/4" and is 1" at the widest. (47mm x 23mm) The attached sterling silver chain is adjustable from 16 to 18" and is finished with a sterling lobster clasp.
